Dr. Annabel Sowemimo is a sexual and reproductive health doctor and the founder of the nonprofit organization Decolonising Contraception that addresses the barriers to healthcare faced by disadvantaged populations. She writes a regular column for the publication gal-dem, called, “Decolonising Healthcare,” and contributes journalism to publications like The Independent, The Metro, and Black Ballad. She holds an intercalated degree in medical anthropology, an MSc in sexual and reproductive health research, and a diploma in tropical medicine and infectious disease. She is also a trustee for Medact Charity.
