Clue celebrates relaunch
Introducing new tracking options and an even better user experience
Clue has spent 10 rewarding years making products that empower millions of people around the world to better understand their bodies. We’re the only female-founded, female-led tracker app, based in the heart of Europe and passionate about using technology to lead the way to more inclusive research, education and policy. From day one, our mission has been to provide trustworthy information, data-driven tools, and emotional support for everyone with a menstrual cycle, serving as an empathetic, scientific companion from your first period to your last. Our community is the reason we exist. So when you tell us how we can make Clue better, we listen. Based on your feedback and with your needs in mind, we’re taking a big step forward and relaunching Clue (on both iOS and Android).
This is what you can expect:
40+ new evidence-based tracking options in categories like “pain” or “sex life” for example, giving you more personalized insights into your cycle (which is what you have requested the most)
A fresh, new design making the Clue app even more intuitive to use
With Dutch, Indonesian and Swedish, we are adding three new languages, bringing you Clue in a total of 17 different languages
Modernizing the foundation of the app technology will allow for even faster development in the future, meaning that we can incorporate your feedback more effectively (for example, better data visualization)
While some features you know and love might not be immediately available, we’re hard at work rolling out the best version of our app yet and will let you know as soon as they are available. We’re so excited to show you what we’ve been working on and can’t wait to hear what you think (let us know here).
Although technology had come a long way since the 1960s, Ida Tin was frustrated by the lack of innovation around birth control and progress in understanding women's bodies. That's why she started Clue with her co-founder Hans Raffauf. The app became a data-driven, personalized and modern tool for people to take charge of their reproductive health - but more than that, a way to normalize conversations about cycles as a vital part of life. We’ve come a long way since she coined the term femtech in 2016: 11 million people in over 190 countries now rely on our app every month and have tracked more than 530 million cycles so far. When you told us that you use Clue to accurately identify fertile days in order to get pregnant, you helped us build different modes like Clue Conceive that now guide you through some of the most exciting and important times of your life. We’ve published more than 450 science-based articles about health, periods, and sex, written by reproductive healthcare clinicians and science writers. And providing de-identified datasets to carefully chosen research partners (while adhering to the strongest data-protection laws in the world, the European GDPR) has allowed top scientists to better understand our bodies, explore cultural and demographic diversity, and dismantle harmful taboos. Being one of the first femtech companies is an obligation we want to honor by continuously improving our offering.
Thanks to thousands of engaged beta testers from our community who shared their thoughtful feedback, the newly designed Clue app is our best product yet. People will have a faster, smoother and enriched experience and we’re laying the foundation for even more innovation in the future. Over the coming year we will be continuously improving and deepening the Clue experience, including, for example, community features. And while we always strive to modernize the app, we’re also committed to keep the features you love - accuracy, ease of use and plenty of options for personalization.
We appreciate your feedback over the years, your loyalty and the grace you show in the moments while we’re still figuring things out. Thank you for using the Clue app. We couldn’t have done this without you, our community.
